Technical Assistance: Region 3 Resources

Professional Development

SCOE offers a variety of professional development activities, such as conferences, training events and telephone classes.  Specialized trainings are also offered to Region 3 publicly funded programs on CDE funding opportunities and after school program requirements such as those associated with the After School Education & Safety program and 21st Century Community Learning Centers.  This professional development is provided by several different entities, including after school organizations, subject matter experts, university researchers, and after school program representatives from Region 3.

Professional Development Highlights

In February of 2007, SCOE hosted the first annual Region 3 After School Leadership Institute in Sacramento, California.  The event provided forty-nine high quality workshops on a variety of topics in program management and administration for administrators, site directors and program staff.  A number of Region 3 program staff attended the event, as well as people from other regions, state and local organizations, and non-profit organizations.
