Region 3 Resources

Regional Leads

In conjunction with CDE Consultants, Regional Leads implement training opportunities and activities uniquely designed to fit the needs of local before and after school program grantees. The Regional Leads spearhead the regional system of support, which is administered in each of the eleven regions by a local county office of education. Each regional lead works with local grantees and after school organizations to plan specific assistance and workshops, to increase communications and networking among program sites, and to increase site level support for program coordinators, staff, and community partners.

CDE Demonstration Sites

The CDE will be selecting demonstration sites in each region based on certain program quality criteria developed by CDE in conjunction with the Southwest Educational Development Laboratory (SEDL).  These demonstration sites will replace the existing Regional Learning Centers.  The Request For Applications (RFA) for the selection of After School Demonstration Sites is currently being finalized.   It is expected that these sites will be operating by January of 2008.

After School Partnerships Office

The CDE After School Partnerships Office provides information about 21st Century Community Learning Centers, the After School Education & Safety program, California’s Advisory Committee on Before and After School Programs, and other related information on after school programs.
